Implant dentistry is one of the latest advancements in tooth replacement. Read on to learn more about how you can restore your smile.
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
A tooth implant is a durable titanium cylinder that is surgically placed into the upper or lower jawbone. After placement, the implant will fuse with the jawbone until it is fully integrated and becomes part of your body. Dental implants can be restored with dental crowns, dentures, or dental bridges.
Dental implants work just like real teeth with real roots! They stimulate the jawbone to prevent it from weakening and collapsing. Each tooth implant can sustain all of the bite force and ability of a natural tooth.
WHY CHOOSE A DENTAL IMPLANT?
Dental implants allow patients to regain fully functional and natural appearing smiles. Tooth loss is caused by tooth decay, gum disease, or trauma. Dental implants are an alternative to ordinary dental bridges or dentures to fill in the gaps caused by missing teeth.
Dental implants are innovative. Implant dentistry focuses on creating smiles that have the natural stability of real teeth. Tooth implant smiles look and feel authentic, and they maintain biological stimulation to prevent bone loss and that “sunken-in” appearance.
A reason to smile again: all-on-four dental implants
Can just four implants replace all of the teeth on the top or the bottom of your mouth? Thanks to advances in dental implant technology, that answer is a resounding yes.
Believe it or not, tooth loss is extremely common among adults, especially as we age. In fact, more than 35 million people in America are missing all of their upper and/or lower teeth. Rather than living with the discomfort and hassles of dentures, many people are opting for what is called “all-on-four” dental implant restoration.
All-on-four: One full arch of teeth, four dental implants
To fully understand this remarkable technique for replacing teeth, you should first understand what a dental implant is. An implant is a small titanium screw that fits inside your jawbone and replaces the root part of a missing tooth. Minor surgery is required to insert the implants. Once the implant is in place, a crown is attached to give you a highly realistic looking and functional prosthetic tooth.
Here’s where it gets really interesting: You do not need a dental implant for each and every one of your missing teeth. All you need is four precisely placed implants on the top of your mouth and four on the bottom to restore your full smile. That’s the beauty of the all-on-four. Because the implant is made of titanium, it has the unique ability to fuse to living bone and function as part of it. So eventually, the dental implant becomes part of the jawbone and serves as a strong, long-lasting foundation for your new teeth.
Ensuring that your implants are permanently fixed in place, this bone fusion has another important benefit: it prevents future bone loss in the jaw. This helps to maintain a more youthful facial structure and better oral health. Perhaps the biggest surprise about the all-on-four is how quickly it can transform your life.
Real Patient Reviews
Best office I’ve ever been too! The staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Falco is the best. He takes the time to explain things and explain your options. I never feel rushed or like I’m just a number. Everyone is so caring and genuine.
I highly recommend Dr. Falco and his amazing staff!! Our entire family visits regularly for cleanings and braces for the kids. We love being able to go to the same dentist for all our dental needs! Schedule today…you will be glad you did!!!
Dr Falco and staff have been taking care of my families dental services for 15 years. An honest and talented doctor for any type of dental needs including cosmetics. He’s the plastic surgeon of dental and cosmetic work. Thanks from our family!!!
I would recommend Smile Design Studio for a variety of reasons. Everyone there is super nice, and they take the time to make you feel very comfortable, whether it be explaining what’s going to be done during your visit, explaining how the tools/procedures work, casually conversing with you — it just makes you feel like you’ve been going there for years, which is awesome. My visit was my first dentist visit in Florida (i moved from Philadelphia a few months ago) and during my visit I realized that my old dentist seemed to be behind from a technology perspective compared to Smile Design Studio. I got a little tour of the whole office from Danielle, my Dental Hygienist, who was super helpful and a pleasure to speak with the whole visit! Smile Design Studio seems to have a lot of the latest technology and research to allow them to enhance their services/offerings to best suit your needs and keep your mouth/teeth at their healthiest — they also informed me about a lot of new/different practices to prevent mouth/teeth issues, which I had never received from my old dentist. I’m very happy my wife booked this appointment for me! We will definitely continue to be patients here!
